More Machine Than Man: Darth Vader Quest (SW/KOTOR) Discussion in 'Quests' started. Even using armour weave over the control panel will just buy you precious seconds in combat, it's not a be all end all fix. Because we really should look at getting them on-side. Also could look at going to Manaan and getting kolto or whatever it was. Mission for the Republic. Beyond the door in the east wall of the northeast airlock, and the door in the north wall of the southeast airlock, is a pressure chamber with a massive fan rotating overhead and a computer panel mounted on its southwest wall, a force field spanning its north side and a door in its east wall, beyond which is a room with footlockers in its northeast and southeast.

Page Tools. When you get off of the Ebon Hawk, you'll find yourself on a rather solitary landing pad. Nothing good is surrounding the ship, so simply go forward through the door and out of the landing area. When you do, you'll run into both a Republic and Sith representative.

They'll be going at it in a war of words. It seems that the Sith representative gets the best of the Republic guy and then walks away. From there, you can talk to the Republic man. You can learn a lot of initial information about Manaan, Ahto City, the Sith, et cetera.

He'll tell you that Manaan wants to stay strictly neutral in the Sith-Republic conflict because they want to basically become rich off of both sides importing a substance called Kolto off of the planet. Kolto is a healing agent that grows naturally in the watery depths of Manaan.

Although both the Republic and Sith have agents on the planet to try to sway the Manaan government to join their side, it doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.Keep in mind that once you dismiss that Republic guy from answering any more of your questions he will disappear, so make sure to exhaust all possible questions from him (to learn more about the planet and the situation therein) before excusing him. Go right from here (to the left is nothing really but a dead end). If you have Carth in your party, you'll run into a man named Jordo who will talk about Carth's son, Dustil, and how he's still alive, training at the Sith Academy on Korriban. If you don't have Carth in your party, this scenario will unlikely happen. Other than that, talk to the Selkath vendor on your way rightward to learn more about Ahto City and Manaan in general. You can also buy goods off of him if you so desire. Then, go out of the door to the right of the vendor, and into the next area.In the next area you will see a Selkath to your left.

His name is Nubassa, a kindly Selkath that trades in exotic galactic animals. You've probably noticed on the Ebon Hawk that you have an ungodly amount of small animals called Gizkas. As you talk to Nubassa, you'll learn how much of a nuisance these creatures are. But if you can persuade Nubassa to take them off of your ship (perhaps for 100 Credits as well), he'll do so, ridding you of that problem forever. He promises to send someone by the Ebon Hawk to make good on the deal later. Well, that takes care of that!

Of course, dealing with Nubassa (and paying any attention to the Gizka on the Ebon Hawk at all) is purely optional. In the middle of this corridor, you'll find a door that leads to West Central Ahto City. Go through this door to exit the docking bay area of Ahto City and find some actual civilization. Go down the brightly lit corridor to another door which leads to a large room. At the left side of this room, you will find an alien willing to play as many hands of Pazaak with you as you desire. Play if you feel lucky (it's not a bad game.

Just takes a lot more luck than the KOTOR tutorial gives it credit for) - otherwise, pass through to the Ahto City Visitor Center. Talk to the Selkath representative behind the desk to your left and talk to him. Pay him the 100 Credit docking fee and you'll be granted access to Ahto City itself, which is beyond the other doors in that room, near the Security Droid.Out here you'll find all sorts of Selkaths and other creatures here on Manaan for business. Many of them will have nothing to say to you, however, other than some passing comments, so don't be too offended! Talk to any Sith guards walking around (they're a very candid group, aren't they?) and then we'll get down to business.Go to the Ahto East Center, which is, as you guessed, the east exit out of the main room past the Visitor Center. As soon as you walk into here, you'll see Sith guards and Republic soldiers arguing it out. You'll see lots of that on Manaan - Sith and Republic tensions are high, but at the risk of their side losing the beneficial neutrality of the Selkath, neither side do anything.

When that fight breaks up, go forward and looking for a Rodian named Hulas. You can learn a hell of a lot from this wise Rodian. He'll tell you he's here to learn and study the Sith, the Republic and the Selkath - three world players that meet on Manaan but can't actually do anything to each other beyond words. He'll tell you of the various things he's learned about all three groups (so simply listen to what he says) - when you've exhausted him as a source, you can move along. But listen carefully to what he says; his insight is deep into the two sides of the galactic conflict, and where the Selkath and Manaan itself stands in it all.Next to the Rodian I just mentioned is another Rodian, tucked deep in a corner. He'll sell Pazaak cards to you if you so desire to purchase them from him.

Other than that, in the opposite corner of this area you'll find a General Store run by a Rodian named Tyvark. Since he's a fan of the Republic over the Sith (as you find out when you enter the store. He gives a Republic soldier a great deal on the goods he buys!), and since you are a Jedi, a symbol of the Republic, he's good to buy off of.

If you need items, armor or the like, come here and buy it!From there, go to the north end of this area, where you'll go through a door. To your left is a hotel, and to your right is the Republic Embassy.

If you want to investigate a murder within the hotel (you must have Jolee in your party to do this), enter the hotel.Side Quest: Trial of the CenturyNOTE: As mentioned above, if Jolee is not in your party, this side quest will not happen. Additionally, this side quest is a long one.

But in the end, it lowers the prices that the vendors here on Manaan charge you if you manage to represent Sunry, the accused man, properly and set him free on the murder charge. It's long, it's involved.

But it's rewarding as well.Enter the hotel and go down the long corridor until you come to a wide open room. To your right will be the check-in counter. Talk to the man behind the counter, a man by the name of Ignus, and you'll learn about an affair. The affair was happening in this hotel between a Sith woman and a Republic man.

It was kept well under wraps until a few nights ago when a blaster went off in one of the rooms. The Sith woman is dead now, and although it seems obvious that the Republic man was behind the death, not everyone is so sure. Because of this, a Selkath investigation is going on into this murder, and the hotel will not be taking any business until it is sorted out. From the hotel desk, turn around and go down into a small hallway where fours doors go off into rooms on opposite sides, two doors on each side. You'll find that all four doors are locked, but there's a way to gain authorization to view the rooms behind these doors.Leave the hotel after learning this information.

Go all the way back to where the Visitor's Center is, and this time, continue going across (instead of up to the Visitor's Center) and enter into the West Courtyard area of Ahto City. As soon as you enter this sector of Ahto City, a woman named Elora (this, again, only happens if Jolee is in your party) will stop your party and instantly recognize Jolee. She says that Sunry has been arrested for murder, brought up on Sith charges after he apparently killed a Sith woman he was having an affair with, just as we found out back at the hotel. She begs and pleads for the party's help, telling Jolee that the Force has surely brought him to Manaan to set Sunry free of his allegations. Jolee agrees to help the woman.Elora tells the party that Sunry is being held at the Selkath Courts, which is located further up from her location, down a corridor. Once you enter this open room, a Sith officer and a Republic officer will be arguing a case in front of the judges.

A 6-on-3 (Sith-on-Republic) fight happened in the streets of Ahto City and no one knows who to blame. The Judges eventually come to the conclusion that both sides are to blame and give both sides a 10,000 Credit fine.

Approach the benches of the five Selkath Judges thereafter and talk to the middle judge. Ask him about the Sunry murder case and it will take not long to appoint you as 'Arbiter' of the case on Sunry's side. It's up to you to find him not-guilty.The Judge will provide you with only the most important parts of the case.

Sunry was seen leaving the hotel a few nights ago, leaving behind the dead Sith woman in his room. She was carrying the medal the Republic awarded him for his valor - this makes it look like he indeed killed her. However, Jolee points out that there is almost too much evidence pointing against Sunry, and that might be why he is, indeed, not guilty. The Judge then tells you to interview the five judges (himself included) for information on the murder, as well as going to the hotel and interviewing the people in the four locked rooms we could earlier not get into to find more information on the murder. I will leave the investigating up to you - go talk to whomever it is you want (as the judges tell you) for information. If you simply want to know how to get Sunry off the hook and lower the prices at the Ahto City shops, then simply read on.If you're choosing to follow my advice and simply read this walkthrough to free Sunry, then all you need to do is go to the jail (which is located literally next to where Elora recognized Jolee earlier and pleaded for his help). Talk to the guard there and he'll open the door into the jail.

Then, talk to Sunry who is being held in a holding cage right next to the door. He and Jolee will briefly catch up. If you want to do this the legitimate way, interview him. If not, end the conversation, talk to the warden behind the desk, and begin the trial! This will not get Sunry off, however.

To get Sunry off and to lower the prices of goods in all Manaan shops, you have to talk to everyone. There are certain things you must do before the case begins:.

Go to the hotel and talk to the Rodian named Gluupor. He's easy to persuade (either naturally or by offering him 100 Credits). The Republic medal found in Elassa's hands when she was dead was planted there by Gluupor. At the same hotel, you'll find the Pazaak player named Firith Me. Talk to him and he'll mention something about Elassa's Sith Master. Persuade him with 100 Credits and he'll tell you that he noticed that she carried a Sith lightsaber, and was obviously a Dark Jedi.

Very important for your case. Talk to the owner of the hotel, Ignus. He's behind the counter in the hotel. Talk to him to find out that he believes the shot went off after Sunry left Elassa's room the night of the murder.

Offer him up 200 Credits to testify to something he's not sure of in front of the court and he'll take your money. Score one more up for the defense!. Sunry's wife, Elora, is stationed right outside of the jail where Sunry is being held. It takes very little to get her to admit that Sunry was having an affair with Elassa. Important evidence indeed.

Panel

After talking to the four people above, talk to Sunry himself and get him to admit to the affair. With that said and done, it's time for the trial. Go talk to the man behind the counter in the jail room and start the trial! After the judges introduce themselves, the court asks if you have any opening statements.

Start by saying that you will find Sunry innocent, which immediately gives you credibility with the court. While it is up to you from here on out to ask what questions and such in both questioning and cross-examining various witnesses, I will recommend what you should say to each person. The first witness is one for the Sith prosecution. His name is Firith Me, and he is a galaxy-wide famed Pazaak player. After the Sith question him, you'll have your chance with him. The two questions you want to ask him before resting the defense's case on this particular witness are asking him if he saw the murder, and also asking him if he thinks that the Republic medal that Sunry was awarded with being left at the murder is just a little too obvious. Both will work well in your favor.

If you managed to bribe Firith Me back at the hotel as well, you can ask him if Elassa was a Dark Jedi, to which he says yes. This also is vital to your case. The Rodian named Gluupor is then called to the stand. After the Sith prosecution has him say that he saw Sunry leave Elassa's room, leaving the dead body behind, you're able to cross examine him. Much like we did with Firith Me, you will be asking Gluupor the same two questions - did he see Sunry kill Elassa, and does he think the Republic medal that Sunry won long ago being left at the scene is a little too obvious.

If you managed to bribe Gluupor back at the hotel, you can also asked him if he planted the Republic medal on Elassa's body, to which he says yes, the Sith paid him to do so. Very important to the case. The next witness for the prosecution is none other than Sunry's wife, Elora. After the Sith bring up the fact that Sunry's crippled status is due directly to a Sith confrontation when he was younger, and that could be the reason Sunry killed the Sith woman, Elora admits it is possible. There's nothing you can really say to her that will help you out with all of the judges (which is why you really want to not ask her anything at all). Don't cross examine her. Simply go on to the next witness.

However, if you managed to get her earlier to admit to the affair Elassa and Sunry were having, you have to say it now. If you let the Sith bring it up first, it will devastate your case. Manaan23.JPG Sunry, the man accused of killing the young Sith woman, is the next called to the stand. The entire affair is brought to light that he was having with the Sith woman (even after he lies about it to the court and is only caught in a lie). Although he originally tells the court he was trying to turn her to the Republic and have her spy on the Sith, he admits he was having an affair and was going to end it that night - but not end her life! You then get a chance to ask him some questions. Ask him both how Elassa got hold of his Republic medal, and ask him if he was going there to end the affair.

Kotor Manaan Kolto Tank

Both of these points will help your case nicely. Now you will be able to close the case. The Sith prosecution presents its side of the story in its closing arguments, and you get to do the same. You'll absolutely want to bring up the fact that no one actually witnessed the murder being done. This will help you immensely in getting a not guilty verdict. In addition, argue that Sunry was going there to end the affair.

Kotor Kolto Control Panel Diagram

It's that simple. Don't say anything else. Rest your case.If you followed my walkthrough for this case, Sunry will be proven innocent.

In addition, the case will be so Republic-sided that the Selkath charge the Sith with obstruction of justice and conspiracy, and the prices for all Republic officials (you included) go way down on Manaan!Your next stop, now, should be the Republic Embassy, the entrance to which is located across from the hotel entrance. You should be quite familiar with the hotel if you did the above side quest. Enter the Republic Embassy and talk to the man behind the little desk there. His name is Roland Wann. Talk to him a bit to get to know him and such. Then the real discussion comes out. When you ask him about the Star Map, he'll tell you he might know something about it, but that he wants you to do something for him in return.

A droid of the Republic's has gone missing and he wants you to break into the Sith Base somehow to retrieve it before the Sith decode the encryption on the droid and find out all of the secrets on it.He'll then give you three choices in which to break into the Sith Base via. The first and most time-consuming choice available is to interrogate a captured Sith officer. The second is to decode stolen pass cards of the Sith's. The third is to break in and fend off Sith left and right. For the sake of this walkthrough (and the path I chose), go with the middle choice, decoding the stolen passcards.Go forward into the next room in the Republic Embassy, then right into the room there. If you chose the command I told you to (the pass card one) then a man here will talk to you. He tells you a bit about what you have to do.

Be lazy - don't listen to him, simply read on for the answers. Approach the computer console in the right corner of the room, and we'll get to work. For the first set of numbers, the answer is 22. For the second set of numbers, the answer is 18. For the third set of numbers, the answer is 64. For the fourth set of numbers, the answer is 2. For the fifth set of numbers, the answer is 6. For the sixth set of numbers, the answer is 7.If you've input all of the numbers correctly, the sequences will end and you'll get the Passcard.

With that, we can go to the Sith Base 'legally.' The Sith Base is located in the far east sector of Ahto City, but first, we can do a side quest in the east side of Ahto City as well.
